Addiction

It's kicking in again something fierce, I'm telling you... probably because it's (finally) getting warmer outside, and that inevitably leads to wearing less clothes/showing more skin... but I REALLY want to get my TLK piece done. Ever since I finished the sketch of it I've been head over heels for it and I can't wait to get it done. To make things more tantalizing, it's not that difficult of a piece, just a stylized head/mask with one word beneath it and a bit of shading/color -- not as much color as my butterfly/feather tattoo, but enough so that it doesn't just look like line art. I've got two completely-script tattoos (my first 2, as a matter of fact) and I'm done with the just-black-no-colors-or-shading thing. My other two pieces have color -- the Irish design still needs words put around it, but otherwise it's two shades of green blended together. But I'm digressing.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that I'm really itching for this TLK piece because it's small, not complicated, and thus won't be that expensive. Uggggh. But right now I'm saving up to go see the show itself in July, so hopefully afterward I'll get it done. but GAWD I want it NOWWWWW.

I Moved!

So don't mind if I don't post anything new for like two weeks or so -- we got 90% moved yesterday, but the cable and internet doesn't get switched over until Thursday, I'm going to a concert on Wednesday, and... yeah. Bear with me, I'm readjusting and rearranging furniture and all that fun stuff :) I'll definitely post pics (not that anyone cares what my new house looks like) but the kittens are already in love with the stairs

Okay, so over the weekend I was finally able to get started on my Disney villains series xD SO PUMPED you guys, you don't even know. (frankly, I don't even know how I managed to inspirate myself, considering the massive partying that went on Friday night... but that's a different story altogether). Yes, inspirate is a word. I just invented it. :P
Wow I get sidetracked easy... probably because I'm at work and would much rather be home drawing.
ANYWAY.
I think I'm gonna try and get all the linearts finished first (and possibly upload them, not sure) and then go back after everything's drawn and go on a coloring spree like I'm seven years old again :aww:
As I said, the series is Disney villains -- MY personal favorites, from the classics up through the Renaissance and so on and so forth. I managed to narrow it down to 21 characters, so there should be 3 characters per page :) just finished the lineart of "The Hunters" last night -- Clayton (Tarzan), McLeach (Rescuers Down Under) and Rourke (Atlantis) -- and I'm really proud of it so far :) not sure if I'm going to properly title each piece (i.e., "the hunters", "the delusional", "the psychotic", etc) or if I'm just going to call them "Disney Villains I/II/III/IV/etc".
Semantics, I tell you.
I can't tell you guys how pumped I am to finally be getting a jump on this set, though :) it's been awhile in the making, probably since I finished the two Disney Love pieces a few months ago -- I tried to do a Villains piece immediately after that and it came out looking sh!tty as hell, so I let it go for awhile to stew in the back of my head and actually (gasp) take the organized approach for once.
And I guarantee I'll post a reminder in the descriptions of each respective piece, but just to keep it straight, these are MY top 21 villains -- I don't mind if you ask "what about so-and-so?" but don't be whiny and harp on about it if I left one of your favorites out; if you don't like my set, make your own! that's actually why I'm doing this series, because so many Disney villain sets leave out one or two of my crucial favorites, and it bums me out. So, voila, I finally said Screw you guys, Imma do my own :P haha. enjoy!!

Alright, so I know I said I wasn't gonna do this and was gonna start early... and then I got sidetracked by drawing/painting/coloring/paperbackswap/ebay/etc.

BUT. at least I've got my story completely outlined, I just need to spend today coming up with a title (hopefully) and then tomorrow... YEEHAW. xD I'm actually really excited about NaNo this year because it's the first time where I have a fully fleshed-out story just waiting to be written  So let this be a heads-up to everyone, I won't be around much because I'm going to devote as much time as possible to writing (when I'm not at work, so that gives you guys little snippets of my time here and there) xD I'll do my absolute best to get Zimeta's request work done ASAP too. Wish me luck, guys!!

Seriously. I've always considered myself an all-kinds-of-pets person -- my first pet was a gerbil, then rabbits, and I've always loved both dogs and cats. When I was a kid I always wanted a German Shepherd or Golden Retriever or Alaskan Malamute or Aussie Shepherd (gorgeous colors), and lately I've liked the idea of a Pomeranian. My boyfriend and I have had a total of seven cats (before we found homes for the kittens), two parakeets and one rabbit and have since reverted to the birds and three cats, and we're content with that for now. However, considering we're planning on moving to Cleveland, we like the idea of having a dog around to keep an eye on things, assuming we won't be in the best of neighborhoods. He's always been a dog person, and wants to get a bull terrier (like the dog in the Target commercials), and I'm still stuck on Pomeranians.

So we're dog-sitting for my dad (for one night, mind you). He has a 6-7 month old puppy, a border collie/Aussie shepherd mix, and he's an energetic puppy, but GAWWWWD. He HAS to be nose-first in whatever you're doing, following you around with his nose up your ass, and NEVER sits down. The cats have had 2 naps already and he's still all over the place like AHHHHH PLAY WITH ME WATCHA DOIN CAN I EAT IT OMG I GOT IT PLAY WITH MEEEEE. and both of us are just like .....ugh. So either we have fully become cat people, or it's just this dog in particular. I'm leaning toward the latter choice, because we have friends with dogs and, while the dogs have energy and are all over us when we initially walk in, they simmer down after a few minutes. Gawd. Note to self -- when we get a dog, either it can be a big one that has a more chilled-out personality, or an energy-dog, but small. Like, the size of the cats, maybe a little bigger. Jeesh.

EDIT: and then he took a poo right in the middle of the living room, when neither of us were paying attention for FIVE MINUTES. ugh. -kicks dog back to dad's house- safe to say we won't doggie-sit again until he goes through some major calming-down-and-listening-to-people therapy.
